Emailing options: “no carbon copy” like “blind carbon copy”

Consider this: you have created a email distribution list for a set of people so that it will be easy to send emails, instead of remembering all email ids. Now, assume you have to send an email to all people in the list, excluding just one person (let us call the person as Joe). Say, you would like to discuss something about Joe with the rest of the group (you want to remind the entire team to wish Joe on his birthday). How do you do this? You have to get all the email addresses in your distribution list and type all those addresses, exlcuding Joe’s email id and send an email. How tedious!?

Why cannot the email servers support a new option, like, “no carbon copy - ncc” (in lines of “bcc”).  When one uses “ncc”, the email server must ensure that the email is not sent to the email adress specified under he “ncc” option, even if the email address is present in the “To” or “cc” or “bcc” fields.  If this kind of option is supported, one can easily solve the problem that is mentioned above. Just type the distribution list address and in the “ncc” option, specify Joe’s email address. The server will take care not to send the email to Joe!

I guess it’s time we get more otpions while sending emails.. to, cc and bcc are getting very old.
